Q.What is Rudraksha beads? Where are they available?
A. Rudraksha is a holy bead known to the mankind since last several thousand years for its beneficial properties. It literally means "Having eyes of Lord Shiva" or "Produced from the eyes of Lord Shiva". Rudra & Aksha merge to create Rudraksha a power bead dear to Lord Shiva as Rudra has transformed to Lord Shiva with Aksha denoting the "Eye" meaning thereby that it is a powerful natural bead linked to the most powerful God of Hindu Trinity Maha Dev. The Shrimad Devi Bhagawat says that one is benefited by simply looking at or, touching a Rudraksha. Many examples prove the splender & Mahima of the Rudraksha.Rudraksha beads are worn for health, wealth & spiritually. Rudraksha beads, botanically known as Elaeocarpus Ganitrus Roxb are the seeds of the Rudraksha fruit from Rudraksha trees.Rudraksha trees are found mainly in South Eastern Asian Islands of Java, Sumatra, Borneo, Bali, Iriyan Jaya, Timor of what is known as modern day Indonesia & parts of South Asian Eastern part of Nepal. Rudraksha trees are found around 70% in Indonesia, 20% in Nepal & 5% in India.There are clefts on the surface of the beads & they are called Mukhis (Faced).
Q. What is special about Rudraksha beads?
A. Asians have used Rudraksha beads traditionally. Asian Yogis & Monks found that merely wearing the Rudraksha beads gave them astonishingly tremendous amount of tranquility, concentration that helped them meditate for a long period of time with spectacular control their mind.
Q. How do we choose a good Rudraksha beads?
A. Many get confused with the shape & size of Rudraksha. One should not seriously worry about it. Just see that the Mukhis are well defined, corns & contours are natural, and there are no cracks near the central hole. The bead has to be lustrous and healthy & devoid of deep cracks & insect holes.
Q. Are Rudraksha beads used only for Meditation? Is it meant only for people of certain background?
A. By wearing these beads one gets tranquility. Peace of mind, focus & concentration. This kind of state of mind is equally ideal for meditation as well as for any other mind related activity by modern day professionals.Concentration & focus are the most important requirement for success in any field. Rudraksha beads many considered it to have some supernatural powers, divine & Godsend. There have been countless mentions of these beads and its powers in various ancient Hindu & Buddhist scriptures.
Q. Can one wear the combination of Different Mukhis?
A. Yes, one can wear the combination of all the beads. The individual powers of the beads can be felt simultaneously. One can also wear a pendant of any specific faced of beads. Either more number of a particular faced of beads can be worn but the most important os the method of stringing by which bead exhibits its full power.
Q. How do we decide which combination of beads to wear?
A. You can choose beads according to the properties of the different beads. You may choose to wear one bead of different faced or, multiple beads as wearing it enhance the power of that Mukhi. You could add for specific planets to pacifying those planets in your horoscope when they are giving negetive influnces. Rudraksha Therapy is more effective than Gem Therapy, as Rudraksha also pacifies the negetive influnce of planets & also gives peace and comfort to the wearer.
Q. How to test the genuinely of the beads?
A. Tests like the one which sinks in water is an original & the one floats is duplicate are not right. Even the ones made of wood with some lead or, heavy ingredients impregnated in it can sink comfortably in water. The best way is to procure from reliable source.
Q. Can all wear Rudraksha?
A. Yes, Everyone irrespective of Sex, Age, Cultural, Ethnic, and Geographical & Religious background can wear it.
Q. How long it takes to feel effects?
A. Certain effects are felt almost immediately like clarity of mind, peace & tranquility. Normally within 45 days you can start feeling major positive changes. Thereafter it will work continuously giving benefits.
Q. Can ladies wear?
A. Yes, they can. Our ancient texts do not mention any taboo regarding ladies.
Q. Is it that only Hindu & Buddhist can wear?
A. No, All followers can wear, Sun, Moon, Stars, Rivers, Oceans & Plants have No religion, caste, followers or nationality.
Q. Should we wear Rudraksha on body when go to cremation ground?
A. No, one should avoid because negative energies are at work in these areas.
Q. Does Rudraksha help sudden nervousness? In what other way can Rudraksha control blood pressure?
A. Yes, keep a big size Five Mukhi Rudraksha with you. Whenever you feel nervous just hold it tight in your right palm for few minutes. You will regain your confidence & body will start warming up. A bead when worn close to the heart attracts flow of blood to the heart & keeps a person healthy and stressfree. Take a glass of water; dip few pieces of Five Mukhi beads in it, preferably after sun set. Drink it when you get up in the morning, before any other intake.
Q. Can we wear Rudraksha while taking bath?
A. Yes, it is beneficial if Rudraksha water flows over body. Just protect Rudraksha from soap or, Shampoo & take care to clean them with a small tooth-brush after taking bath. Apply light oil with a tooth-brush over beads, whenever they seem dry. Mala should be take off taking bath, if you so desire & worn it immediately thereafter.
Q. Can the family members keep inter-changing Neck Malas, Japa Malas or, Rudraksha beads?
A. No, there is a relationship between the wearer & Rudraksha, which is very personal and must not be shared. But it can be willed and passed on to the next generation.
Q. When should we take off Rudraksha beads or Malas?
A. Rudraksha may wear on a regular basis. There is no taboo written in our Puranas to be followed while wearing them. Some books state that the Mala could be taken off during menstrual cycle, sex and funeral times. This is however not stated in any authentic ancient texts which in fact have stories of even animals wearing Rudraksha. It is recommended to take off Mala at night before sleep & worn again in the morning after bath for convenience.
Q. What is the life of Rudraksha beads?
A. Rudraksha is strong beads and has a life of thousands of years if well taken care of. They are passed from one generation to other generation.
Q. How do we clean the beads or, Mala?
A. If the beads need cleaning after regular wear dips them in warm water over-night. Then scrub them thoroughly using a plastic brush. After this wash them with normal water and let them dry. Then apply oil (Olive oil) or, Sandal wood oil on the beads using a small tooth-brush. Then purify by offering insence and sandal paste & Mantras. This procedure doesn’t need to be done more often than once in 3 months.
Q. Can Non-Vegetarians wear Rudraksha and also if drinking of Alchohol is prohibited?
A. Our ancient texts state that Rudraksha should become a part of on's body. Ancient texts state that even a debauch person who has done sin all his life, can find salvation by merely a darshan of Rudraksha. There is no taboo mentioned regarding eating or drinking. Wear with faith and devotion and results would manifest.
